Become part of our community by supporting us in a way that works for you.
The Asian Art Museum is always looking to add rare or unusual artworks that match the high quality of our existing collection. Donating your piece to the museum will allow the public access to it and will preserve your work for future generations to enjoy.
If you think you have something that fits the above description, please send photographs and as much information as possible about it — including when, where and how you acquired it — to [email protected] or to the attention of the Curatorial Department at our mailing address. Works should be in good enough condition to display. Due to the high volume of submissions received, we are not able to respond to all inquiries.
If we accept a donated artwork, you’ll be able to deduct the value of the work per IRS guidelines.
Please note: We cannot accept unsolicited works of art. In addition, the Asian Art Museum generally does not purchase artwork or accept loaned artworks from private collections. IRS rules prohibit us from appraising artworks; we recommend the American Society of Appraisers and Bonhams. We are also unable to offer assistance in researching private collections, although our research library is open by appointment.
If you need assistance or have questions about your donation, we're here to help.
